rdaining new ministers and pastors
The 23rd Church Anniversary

You see a need and you come up with a strategy

At the beginning of the evening part of the “Resurrection and Life” Conference of the 23rd Anniversary of the «Embassy of God» church, the congregations and guests of the church listened to a song presentation – a love hymn for God called, “How can I appreciate the Lord for all He’s done?”

Pastor Lesya Korovina presented the work of the rehabilitation centers of the Embassy of God. The founders of this movement are Pastor Natalia Potopaeva and Pastor Sunday Adelaja. Over 200 rehabilitation centers function according to Pastor Natalia Potopaeva’s plan.

The graduates of the rehabilitation centers filled stage of the Embassy of God, thereby revealing and confirming the glory of God through their transformed lives. The whole scene burst with life, bright and beautiful people. The “Path to Freedom for Your Family” program has helped about 50 thousand people to find freedom from different addictions over 23 years. Nowadays, these families are happy, with healthy children, and grandchildren! The people on stage were dead. Logically, they should not be alive, but they are alive today and their lives are devoted to helping the same kind of people that they used to be.

These graduates of the Rehabilitation Centers took turns briefly testifying about who they were and who they have now become after completing the Christian rehabilitation program. Now, these people are not just healthy people, but people with higher educations, politicians, businessmen, active public figures, and scientists!

Drug addicts and alcoholics were not the only ones who have gotten freedom from addiction: for the past 23 years, the Embassy of God has rehabilitated about 50,000 mothers together with their children.

Before ordaining new ministers and pastors for service, Pastor Sunday Adelaja preached a word especially for them, as well as for those present at the service.

John 5:1-9 “After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the Sabbath.”

This is not a story about a sick man, but about us. The whole world is sick! It is written there that there were a lot of sick people. Everyone, the Church included, expected that God will come and bring answers to those who suffer. Both the sick and the believers were waiting for God. In this story, the sick represents those who do not know God. But unfortunately, the Christians were also waiting for when an “angel” would come! They were true “believers”, since they so believed that an angel would eventually come and heal the sick.

We are doing the same thing today. We are waiting for God’s advent in order to be healed, to be awakened. But this story is not about the lame man, it is showing us the way we should not act and think today.

We are forbidden from doing nothing when we see people in need. We are forbidden to say that we are waiting for God’s advent. We have no right to think like that, that we are waiting  for God’s visitation. He has already come! He is inside of us!

Then pastor Sunday tells how Christians should behave:

  1. The first thing to do is to see a person’s need, a problem, and pull the person out of it. Jesus had come to the pool, but people still waited. God has already come, but we are still waiting for an awakening! The reason why Jesus did not heal anyone else that day is to show us the stupidity of such waiting. God has already done everything. We do not have to wait for God to come. He has already come! Do not wait for another day. Do you see a person in need, a poor person, or a sinner? Stand up and step forward and God will act through you to save this person
  2. Make a decision to help those in need through the solutions of questions and problems that you have encountered and learnt.
  3. Build a strategy on how to pull people away from their problems. It is an illusion to wait until the Holy Spirit acts. God gave us the Holy Spirit for over 2000 years ago. God is here! Build strategies, learn, research, develop your mind and your spirit. If there is fear in you, work on yourself, and improve yourself.
  4. If you are in need of a revelation, miracles, or a revival, then get to know God.

Do not think that you are waiting for God. He is the one waiting until you start doing something. Start seeing the needs of people, and build strategies on how to solve these problems. Stand up, see the needs of the people and set them free from their problems, heal them and build strategies. Build up your personality and your wisdom. Build effective strategies and afterward go and do them. God is waiting for your actions.

Afterwards, Pastor Sunday prayed for those who were ordained as ministers and pastors, and blessed them, declaring them as apostles to conquer all the nations through Christ.

At the end of the service, Pastor Yuriy Kantsur, invited Pastor Natalya Potopaeva, Pastor Tope and Pastor Sunday on the podium to congratulate them; Pastors Sunday and Tope on their 50th birthday, and Pastor Natasha as she turns 70 years this year. In regards to this, Pastor Sunday invited the whole Church to celebrate this Jubilee with him in the Church on the 28th of March!

Our conference continues! Wait for the subsequent reports.
