The service in the central church of the Embassy of God held on May 22nd, coincided with the third day of the evangelistic crusade with Pastor William Kumuyi.
After praise and worship the moderator gave a few announcements before inviting people to give testimonies. It was then during the time of sharing testimonies when a lady witnessed the healing of her left leg that was hurting after a stroke.
After the testimonies Pastor Sunday invited Pastor Kumuyi on stage to share his last message for the crusade. Pastor Kumuyi’s sermon was titled “Dynamite and the dynamics of faith.”
Dynamite is used for instant destruction and demolition of material things (houses, mountains, etc.), in order that later, on the site of the destruction, new buildings could be built. In other words, dynamite helps to get rid of old things and make room for new ones.
“In our case, mountains represent problems and challenges that stop a person on his life path and distract from achieving goals. Faith in God represents the “dynamite” that believers should use to destroy all barriers and keep moving on, standing firm on God’s promises “- the speaker said.
Faith in God is not an abstraction, but a working tool that the people of God should use to overcome obstacles in spiritual and material world.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1)
This verse reveals that faith is connected with expectation, therefore number one task is to know what we expect from God? What do we want to fulfill in our lives? We should expect changes in specific areas of our lives – family, finances, health, ministry, etc. This way faith strengthens and specifies.
In addition, Pastor Kumuyi highlighted the following questions:
- What is faith?
- How to show faith?
- How to declare and affirm faith?
In Hebrews we can learn the definition of faith. It can be described as a “string” that connects the invisible power of God and visible problems. There is no possibility in solving the problem without this “string”.
«5 When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, 6 “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.” 7 And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith». (Mth. 8:5-10).
Centurion had certain power and responsibility over his servant and therefore asked Jesus for healing on behalf of his servant. Believers also have certain power over problems, obstacles and diseases. To manifest this power they are to call on Jesus and connect faith in God with the problem to receive the answer.
In Luke chapter 5 we read the story about desperate fishers, who could not catch any fish, despite their professional experience. The situation changed when Jesus appeared among them:
“4 And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” 6 And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking” (Lk. 5:4-6).
“Whenever Jesus appears in any situation, obstacles move. We should be filled with Jesus and never lose connection with the Source. In partnership with God any visible failure changes into success; a curse changed to a blessing; physical weakness -to good health”– said Pastor William Kumuyi.
It is important to stay firm when we demonstrate our faith, proclaiming the result despite visible circumstances.
After the sermon, the church prayed for newly converted and healing of various diseases: healing arthritis, vertebral hernia, hypertension, obstruction of veins, hemorrhoids, sinusitis, gums bleeding, cataracts, toothaches and headaches, nasal reconstruction (restoration of the sense to distinguish smells, which was gone for 35 years), spine and hearing restored. These are the testimonies of God’s glory that concluded the 3rd day of the evangelic crusade with Pastor Kumuyi.
