God’s target

Pastor Bose’s sermon wasdirected to the depth of each our hearts. Shebegan by telling us that “The most precious thing God wants from us, His target in our life, in the family and in the church – is our hearts! He is first and foremost interested in our hearts! God judges us and estimates us according to our hearts. He wants to turn us into people after His own heart, into people who look deeper and try to know His will “- this was how Pastor Bose started her preaching.

Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.(Ezekiel 36:25-27).

Seek first the kingdomof God means to seek to align our thinking and our hearts withthe principles of God’s kingdom! God wants us never to forget that we areheavenly people, merely sojourners here on earth, and that heaven is our home!

While Pastor Bose laidemphasis on the fact that we need to do all the necessary things of life, like studying, washing dishes, cleaning the house, we shouldnever get lost in these works. While we wash the dishes or vacuum the house, we should not get lost and forget that we are heavenly people. We shouldthink about heaven every day. Our focus should be on heaven! Because heaven is our final destination! Only practical and sensible people think about their end.

God wants us to have a new and changed heart.

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.(Prov. 4:23).

Godis wise, and therefore, our source – our heart is of the greatest interest toHim! Regardless of how I look outwardly, if I have a bad heart, I have a problem with God.

Whenwe do not want to forgive, but still forgive – our heart is cleansed. When we come to service, to the church – our heart is cleansed. And we need to work on this constantly.

Pastor Bose taught that “My growth can be measured not by the number of my ministries, or some other visible things, but only by the condition of my heart”.

Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds. (Ps.7: 9).

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7).

Our relationship with Godmust be built on the heart level. The heart is the birthplace of lawlessness. If lawlessness is not in the heart, then it won’tbe in our behavior andaction.

As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lordsearches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever(1 Chron. 28:9).

Pastor Bose narrated how her life began to change when she realized the secret of a successful life. She prayed: “God, let your will be done in my life. I do not know anything, I do not understand much, I’m just flesh and blood, but you search the heart, lead me through life, show me the way, guide me, Jesus, mould my heart. When she started to pray like this, shefelt better and unnecessary burdens left her.

I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. (Jer. 17:10).

After the sermon, the church in unity repented before God and prayed that He would guide and cleanse us, purify our hearts, grant us wisdom and test every meditation.

May the Lord help us to keep our hearts pure, in peace and holiness!

May God bless you!
