The Senior Leadership of the State Penitentiary Office of Ukraine has awarded the Head of non-profit organization “Sport against drugs” Yuriy Verhman with the honourable award “ For effective cooperation and a major contribution into the development of the Penal System of Ukraine”.
We would like to remind you that NGO “Sport against drugs” has been visiting correctional facilities for 5 years helping a great number of guys to find their place in life after being released from prison.
NGO “Sport against drugs” is a voluntary non-profit organization of citizens that is dealing with implementation of preventative measures among youth.
NGO “Sport against drugs” organizes sport groups. For the past three years, the football club “Maximus” has taken an active part in Kiev football championship competitions. The sport club “Andreevskiy” is founded in an environment where young people can escape the negative influence of the street. The football league “Sport against drugs and crime” was founded in 2007, in which 18 teams take part today. Players of the league conduct sport competitions in prisons.
NGO “Sport against drugs” is a member of the social council of the city administration in Desnyanskiy district Kiev. The organization has been awarded an honorary award by the Ministry of Family, Sports, and Youth, Ukraine.
